Option: Create PDF with integrated engine

TextDynamic can be licensed with a PDF creation option. This makes it possible to create a new PDF file from the current loaded text. It is also possible to export a sequence of texts into one PDF file.

Features of the PDF engine

  • Security (40 and 128 bit Encryption)
  • Compression (JPEG, deflate)
  • Possibility to attach binary data (see manual)
  • Embedded metafiles are converted to vectors and text, not bitmap data
  • Font embedding, also font subsets
  • PDF/A support
  • Based on the widely used and reliable PDF creation engine "wPDF"

TextDynamic vs RTF2PDF3

Before the PDF file is created a save-to-file dialog will pop up in TextDynamic. This can be very useful if the PDF is locked because it is already open in the reader, so the user can click on "retry". (The save-to-file dialog is disabled if you have licensed the TextDynamic Server editon and also provide a file name for the export).

RTF2PDF3 always uses the "premium" features (Textbox support, footnotes) for the text conversion.
It also allows "quiet" PDF creation (without dialog) in the standard edition while this is only possible if you have a server license when using TextDynamic.
RTF2PDF3 has a documented DLL interface which makes it easy to use in C++ applications. It does not use a window handle.
